Online Catalog and Ordering System of the U.S. Mint is Not Functioning

us_mint_system_unavailableConsumers who paid a visit to the official site of the U.S. Mint and willing to place an order for any product that the Mint offers, especially for the new Bald Eagle Commemorative Coins, had been redirected to a page that started with the following message:

"Because of a transition in service providers, the United States Mint online catalog is currently unavailable. We expect the online catalog to be back in service within the next couple of days. In the interim, our toll-free customer service number will continue to be available to our customers.

To place an order, or to inquire about the status of an order, please call 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468). Customer Service Representatives will be available to assist you from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight (ET), seven days a week. Hearing- and speech-impaired customers may place orders and inquiries through TTY at 1-888-321-MINT (6468), Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (ET)."

It is worth mentioning that a usual business would've held to task the IT/MIS department for even having the idea of such a long-term interruption before the sale of a new item release. However, because the U.S. Mint receives investment from tax payers, there was no flawless transition. There could have been a worse situation for the officials and the employees working at the Mint.

There is good news too, that is the final result of the site's system. The Mint's website would have a better ordering system. It will be faster and more secure.
