Coin, money and medals show in Somerset
Approximately 100 dealers of coins, paper
money, tokens and medals will be
available to the public May 14-16 at the
This will be the 34th anniversary Convention of the Garden State Numismatic
Association, a 400 member group that includes 20 coin clubs from around the state. Convention hours are 1-7 p.m. May
14, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 15 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 16.
New World Rarities will conduct a coin
auction that will begin at 6 p.m. May 15 with the material available to
review on May 14-15.
"The auction has always created an excitement amongst the members
and visitors," said association president Dave Bailey. "We always
look forward to it.
Vice-President Jim Majoros said, "We are having a two case exhibit
of the 200th anniversary of our 16th president, Abraham Lincoln, which is being
shipped to us from the American Numismatic Association headquarters in
Convention Director, Tom Hyland, has arranged for meetings on May 16
involving Early American Copper and Colonial Clubs and the NJ Exonomia Society. In addition, he has
set up a junior program that will take place 10 a.m. May 16 that will include a
lunch.
The association's annual meeting will take place at noon on May 16 with
special awards being presented.
