health department spokesman John Ricci.
Hallaton Roman coin is 'oldest found in Britain'
A silver coin
dug
up as part of a hoard is the oldest piece of Roman money found in
Britain,
experts believe.
The coin,
which has
been dated to 221BC, was found near Hallaton in Leicestershire with
5,000 other
coins, a helmet and decorated bowl.
Uncovered by
archaeologists in 2000, the coin's significance has just been
recognised, the
county council said.
It said the
coin,
which has the Goddess Roma on one side, was "something very special".
The other side
depicts mythical twins Castor and Pollux sat on galloping horses.

Higher copays raise health costs in U.S. aged: study
The research,
published in the New England Journal of Medicine, questions the wisdom
of
raising co-payments to save money, at least among the elderly.
That might be a
way
to cut health care costs among younger people, but not for people age 65
and
older, Dr. Amal Trivedi of Brown University, who led the study, said in a
telephone interview.
"It's a
lose-lose proposition for most health plans," Trivedi said.
Toyota’s Woes in America Raise Concern in Japan
As Toyota’s problems

Bleached counterfeit bills make their way to ER
East
Rutherford
Deputy Chief Edward Bury recently reported confiscating counterfeit
bills that
have been circulating around the borough, specifically bleached-out $5
bills
that have been reprinted as $100 bills.
This technique
of
counterfeiting is more high-tech than printing the money at home on an
ink jet
printer, according to U.S. Secret Service Special Agent in Charge Cindy
Wofford. Because of the sophistication of the bills, the bleaching
method
usually means a more organized group is involved.
“Anytime they
are
bleaching fives and counterfeiting on top, it creates a better quality
because
the paper is real,” Wofford said. “It allows counterfeit pens to react
like an
actual bill due to the paper. … It appears real to the retailer and is a
little
easier to pass.”
Kids get skin infections from toilet seat
"Toilet seat
dermatitis
is one of those legendary conditions... seen in underdeveloped
countries, but
one that younger paediatricians have not come across in their daily
practice," says Bernard Cohen, director of paediatric dermatology at
Hopkins Children's.
Analysing
cases
from the US and India, Cohen and colleagues attributed it to harsh
cleaning
chemicals and exotic wooden toilet seats, making a comeback as bathroom

-- especially seats covered with varnishes and paints.
